Retail Assistant Store Manager –This position works primarily on the sales floor and will help lead and encourage our other team members.
We are seeking someone who is:
-Organized, self-motivated and goal oriented (you love knowing what needs to be done and then doing it)
-Interested in menswear, fashion & clothing, and eager to learn more about the industry
Can learn and demonstrate product knowledge, including sizing, fabrics, style, and accessory options
-Showcases a professional, well-groomed appearance
-Outgoing and team oriented
-Eager to provide a convenient, tailored shopping experience to every customer
-Interested in assisting with the store’s social media content
And would love to…
-Engage with the customers to create their desired vision for outfits and special occasions based on their style, budget, etc.
-Display apparel in a visually appealing, strategic way
-Increase sales, market events, and help promote our store as the local shop for menswear
-Earn sales bonuses

Hours & Salary:
This is an hourly position, 35-40 hours/week, at $17.00 - $20.00/per hour including sales bonuses, dependent on experience. This hourly wage range equates to approximately $35,360.00 - $41,600.00 per year based on a 40-hour week, commission and other bonuses based on sales performance. Most weeks you will work about 40 hours, but it’s whatever it takes to do the job well!
Evaluation:
Communication is key, feedback and open discussion are encouraged. We provide consistent coaching throughout the year to assist with your growth in the company as well as conduct reviews to discuss strengths/weaknesses, store needs, goal setting, etc.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Smart casual/Semi-casual dress code
- Properly measuring customers and assisting in style selections
- Meeting and maintaining benchmark rental and sales goals
- Excellent customer service.
- Have a lot of fun, be happy and encourage happy customers and coworkers
- Having a thorough understanding of being on the retail sales floor & selling techniques, which include a thorough knowledge of the products and how they work.
- Knowledge of all the vendors: for assistance with customer special orders.
- Adhering to store’s non-negotiable standards to keep the store well-organized & running smoothly
- Assisting with the management of staff – delegating, communicating, leading by example, motivating, training, etc.
- Maintaining & updating store displays, windows, and merchandised areas.
- Marketing rental business through bridal shows, homecoming and prom events
- Marketing in-store promotions and events within your local community and local partners.
- Finding creative ways to increase sales through special events, merchandising, working with special interest groups & community partners, i.e., local businesses, schools, non-profit organizations, etc., reading books or listening to podcasts about promotions and then implementing ideas. Again, different ways to increase sales!
- Follow through on all orders, defective merchandise, transfers, special orders, etc
- Assisting with placing product orders and researching/buying new styles
- Staying organized, excellent time-management & prioritization skills.
- Following all opening & closing checklists; maintaining a clean sales floor, stockroom, office, and bathroom.
- Learning about various fabrics, patterns, and colors
- This is a physically demanding job, and you must be able to lift 40lbs, stand for long periods, stoop, reach, climb ladders, stairs, etc. for merchandising and displaying marketing visuals
- Lifting 7 lbs overhead to hang suits and tuxedos
- Taking accurate customer measurements which require frequent bending and/or kneeling
