The Aging in Place Council brings together professionals and organizations from across the region to explore how our community can best support vitality, independence, and quality of life as our residents age. Open to all fields connected to aging, wellness, and community support, the committee offers engaging presentations from experts and a collaborative space to discuss trends, challenges, and innovative solutions. Join us to connect, learn, and help shape the future of aging in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
The presentation topic of the morning will be Lifelong Learning, with representatives from James Madison University's Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI). Our hosts, Sunnyside Retirement Community, recently received JMU’s Community Partnership Award for LLI programming and support. They have many residents who enjoy LLI as students, but also have several residents who teach and facilitate as LLI faculty.
Along with speakers on Lifelong Learning, this will be a great opportunity to network and determine future presentation topics at other host locations.
Parking will be available outside the venue and breakfast bites and beverages will be served.
