June 2022 Rocktown History Third Thursday Talk Hybrid Event

Presenter Bev Appleton’s program will be filled with images, history notes, and anecdotal remembrances, covering about 100 years from the antebellum period to post-WWII.

Appleton spent numerous summers in his "long lost" youth at his grandfather's (Daddy Joe Deter) cabin, Blue Hole, the Spring House, City Park (now Riven Rock Park). and numerous other Rawley Springs locations. He's been a property owner since 1978 and a resident since 2002. While he considers himself to be an amateur historian, his enthusiasm for Rawley Springs has developed into a collector’s passion for the story of this iconic Rockingham County location.
