Valley Businesses Give Back (VBGB) is an annual food and fund drive led by local businesses and organizations in the Shenandoah Valley to raise money and collect non-perishable food to help stock the shelves of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank during the summer months. In 2018, 35 businesses donated 9,166 pounds of food and $6,611, enough to help us provide 34,083 meals to neighbors in the Shenandoah Valley —twice as much as our projected goal!
First launched in 2011, Valley Businesses Give Back has collectively raised more than $35,000 and brought in more than 63,000 pounds of food to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. All told, we’ve been able to provide 193,000 meals to Shenandoah Valley families. We are grateful for the continued partnership and support of this effort from Hershey Chocolate of Virginia as well as the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce Serving Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County, and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.
