SVEC Awards Grants

ROCKINGHAM — The Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Committee awarded more than $14,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations in January.
Operation Round Up, which launched in fall 2017, is the cooperative’s charitable giving program that addresses crucial needs within their service area, according to the SVEC press release.
The cooperative serves around 93,000 meters in Rockingham, Augusta, Shenandoah, Clarke, Frederick, Highland and Warren counties,
along with the city of Winchester.
Organizations awarded grants in January included Page Free Clinic, Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity, Catholic Outreach, People Helping People, Augusta Health Foundation, Rockingham Library Association and New Directions in Augusta County and the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.
The next grant cycle takes place in July, according to the release.
