OASIS PRESS RELEASE (for October 2019 Events)
EXHIBITS:
Main Gallery: In October, the Main Gallery will have a new show by OASIS artists called “Shenandoah Valley”. There will be a First Friday reception on October 4, from 5-8 pm; this is a free event, with light refreshments and live music by the JMU Jazz Students. The show will be on exhibit through 31 October 2019.
Water Street Window Gallery: During the month of October, the Water Street Window Gallery will have a display to honor Breast Cancer Awareness. The RMH Foundation will have information about various activities associated with Breast Cancer Awareness.
Hotel Madison: OASIS artists Bahir Al Badry and Erin Harrigan will be exhibiting on the Hotel Madison mezzanine from 1 October-30 November. Their exhibit is called “Impressions”. There will be two First Friday receptions: on 4 October and 1 November.
ACTIVITIES:
Skeleton Fest: OASIS will be participating in the downtown-wide trick-or-treat fun on October 19 from 2-4. Looking forward to seeing all the costumes!
Art & Tea: on October 8, from 2-4 pm Carrie McGary will present “Stretching the Boundaries: Yarn as Art and Craft”. Carrie is an art knitter, teacher and owner of Magari Dyeworks and Yarn. This event is FREE but registration is necessary by October 4 at oasisartandtea@gmail.com.
Art on Wheels: Will be on hiatus for a couple of months.
Kids’ Saturday Activities: The Kids’ Saturday activities with Edda will be on October 12. The activities will use a variety of media and each session will result in at least one take-home item. This is a free event but registration is required by October 10 to edd4kinder@gmail.com
OASIS is a co-op gallery with over 35 local artists and artisans, who exhibit and sell their work. OASIS Fine Art & Craft is located at 103 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg.
