Announcing: “Great Community Give Day”

Harrisonburg, VA – The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is celebrating the official founding of their initiative, Great Community Give within the local community. The City Council of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County Board of Supervisors announced last week during their bi-weekly meetings that the third Wednesday of April shall be henceforth formally known as Great Community Give Day. Local nonprofits have benefitted from community support through GCG since 2018. In 2021, donors gifted over 2,000 $10 donations and 63% of gifts made to nonprofits were $50 or less. The 5th annual Great Community Give, is coming to Harrisonburg and Rockingham County on April 20, 2022, 6:30AM to 8:00PM. This year 125 nonprofits are seeking support.

Great Community Give, an initiative of The Community Foundation, since April 18, 2018, is an annual sunrise to sunset event that promotes community wide giving in support of nonprofit agencies in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Since its inception, GCG has raised $3,390,214 for community agencies.
