We are now seeking a Director of Sales to lead and enhance our global sales and marketing strategies.
Location: This in-person role is based in Harrisonburg, VA, with regular travel required.
Position Summary: The Director of Sales will play a crucial role in aligning sales and marketing strategies with the company’s business goals. This position requires a proven leader with a strong background in customer acquisition and retention, sales optimization, strategic account management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a robust network within the food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the COO and key leaders to align sales and marketing strategies with business objectives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to drive organic growth and market expansion.
- Create and maintain annual and long-term sales plans that align with market trends.
- Utilize data and analytics to anticipate market trends, understand competitor strategies, and address customer issues.
- Leverage technological investments to enhance cold storage traceability and operational efficiencies.
- Lead strategic account management, nurturing key client relationships to ensure continued growth.
- Establish and manage pipeline tools and tracking systems to generate key reports for increasing revenue targets and improving forecasting.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and respect.
- Guide the customer experience team through the post-sales process, from onboarding to retention efforts.
- Market the business internally and externally through traditional and digital media, promoting company values at industry and community meetings.
- Standardize selling processes and guidelines, efficiently responding to RFPs and monitoring close rates. - Implement data and analytics tools to gain insights for effective forecasting and increased revenue targets.
- Identify and explore new areas for revenue growth and process improvement.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, working cross-functionally to meet deadlines and maintain workflow visibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in sales and marketing within warehousing, cold storage, or 3PL sectors.
- Proven track record in strategic account management with established contacts in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Executive presence with strong client-facing skills and experience engaging with key executives and stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and articulate complex supply chain dynamics, including trucking and logistics operations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive change and innovation within the organization.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in leveraging data analytics to support sales and revenue growth.
- Excellent team leadership skills with experience in developing and mentoring a sales team.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
