PVFCU’s Smeltzer Earns CFP Designation

HARRISONBURG — Park View Federal Credit Union announced that Sherwyn Smeltzer, a financial adviser, is now a certified financial planner as authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
According to a Park View press release, Smeltzer is a certified public accountant at the nonprofit, member-owned cooperative credit union based in Harrisonburg.
The certified financial planner designation identifies people who have met rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP board, as well as having successfully completed financial planning coursework and passed the CFP certification examination, according to the release. The exam covers the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning
and management, retirement and employee benefits and estate planning.
Park View Federal Credit Union, established in 1969, provides financial services at five branch locations in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area.
