OASIS Spring Fling

EXHIBITS:
Main Gallery: On First Friday, May 4 we will host a reception for the new show “Spring Fling”, a mixed media exhibit by OASIS artists. The First Friday reception, from 5-8, includes light refreshments, live music by The Countryside Garage Band and is FREE. The exhibit continues through May 31th, 2018. Fling yourself into Spring!
Water Street Window Gallery: In honor of National Police Week (May 13-19), the WSWG will display photographs of police officers in the line of duty; the photographs were taken by Alan Lytton, a police auxiliary officer. The gallery will also display art work, thanking police officers; the art work was created by Harrisonburg students.
Main Street Window: In conjunction with the “Paint the Valley Blue” campaign to recognize and thank police officers, the main street window will be decorated with a “blue” theme.
Activities:
Art & Tea: On May 8th Art & Tea continues! From 2:30-4:30, join us to have some tea and talk some art! The May topic is about the creation of a tapestry of historical buildings in the Shenandoah Valley, and will be presented by the Winchester Chapter of the Embroiders Guild. This is FREE but pre-registration is necessary by May 4th: email to oasisartandtea@gmail.com.
Art on Wheels: OASIS artists and affiliated artists have started activities at the Boys & Girls Club at the Simms Center. The activities include Nature Craft (Charlotte Shristi) and Mosaic Art (Sally Ridgway and Barbara Camph).
KIDS’ ACTIVITIES (Saturdays): On May 19th at OASIS: FREE children’s art activities, from 10:30 to 12:00. Activities will be on a first-come-first-serve basis for children 5 years of age and older. Media may change, will be varied, and may include painting, paper crafts and other fun projects. Pre-registration by the prior Thursday (May 17th) is required by emailing edda4kinder@gmail.com.
OASIS is a co-op gallery with over 35 local artists and artisans, who exhibit and sell their work. OASIS Fine Art & Craft is located at 103 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg.
