Goodwill Industries of the Valleys Welcomes Additional IT Leadership

Roanoke, Virginia – Goodwill Industries® of the Valleys appointed Hunter French as Vice President of Information Technology Security on January 31, 2022. In this role, French will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity and IT risk management program. Hunter reports to Brenda Moore, Chief Information Officer.
 
French joins Goodwill’s Executive Leadership Team and will lead the Information Technology department along with Brenda Moore, Chief Information Officer, and Chris Conner, Vice President of Information Technology.
 
French had most recently been with BDO USA, LLP. He was formerly at Medical Facilities of America as a Director of Technical Services and Support and worked for two school districts in Pennsylvania. In his roles, he has 20 years of experience directing the development of strategic technology vision and executing against the product and technology roadmap. He has been recognized for years of thought leadership around resource, technology, and budget allocation.
 
French holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Wake Forest University. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
 
“Hunter is a seasoned IT security professional with vast experience,” said Moore. “His knowledge of cybersecurity operations and the threats cyber professionals face on a regular basis positions Hunter as the expert Goodwill needs to protect the systems and data for our organization as well as our employees and clients.”
 
Hunter will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage IT risk for the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity, and confidentiality. Hunter and the IT leadership will contribute to Goodwill’s overall operations and strategy development, bringing current knowledge and future vision to leverage information and technology in business model design, operational improvements, and support for the organization’s mission of empowering individuals, strengthening families, and inspiring communities.
