F&M Bank Announces VP Promotions

HARRISONBURG — Farmers & Merchants Bank announced promotions for employees at several of its branches in the Shenandoah Valley.
Jonah Pence was promoted to senior vice president and market leader for F&M Bank’s Harrisonburg and Rockingham County offices, according to a bank press release.
Pence, who lives in Cross Keys, has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech as well as a graduate degree from Louisiana State University’s School of Banking. He attended Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management and also earned a master’s in business administration from The University of Tennessee at Martin in 2016.
Pence, who has worked for F& M Bank since October 2005, volunteers as a board member for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
In other bank promotions, Aaron Green was named senior vice president and market leader for F&M Bank’s branches in northern Rockingham, Page and Shenandoah counties, a press release stated. Green began his career at F& M Bank in June 2010 as a regional business development officer.
The Shenandoah County native, who holds a business degree and an MBA from Eastern Mennonite University, is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Holly Thorne, Chris Gunter, Keith Deeds and Cathy Lindamood also were promoted to vice president roles, a press release said.
Thorne, of Harrisonburg, has served as marketing director of F&M Bank since February 2013. She has past experience in communications, publishing and government. Thorne earned degrees from Bridgewater College and West Virginia University.
Gunter was the branch manager of F&M’s Broadway office. The Timberville resident joined the bank in 2000 and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, having earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from Radford University. He also attended the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management.
Deeds joined F&M Bank as a facilities manager in 2005 and has over 20 years of experience in finance. He graduated from the Wilmington College of Oceaneering while he served in the U.S. Navy. Deeds, who lives in Rileyville, is a Luray High School alum.
Lindamood, of Edinburg, most recently served as the branch manager of F&M’s Woodstock location. She has over 40 years of experience in the banking industry and joined F&M Bank in 2004 and graduated from Central High School and Lord Fairfax Community College.
