Brown Edwards CEO Recognized On The Virginia 500 2021 Power List
For the 2nd year in a row, Brown Edwards CEO, Jason Hartman, has been named to the Virginia 500 2021 Power List.
The Virginia 500, assembled by Virginia Business magazine, lists the state’s top business leaders across twenty categories taking into consideration annual revenue, newsworthiness, community involvement, diversity, number of employees (in Virginia and worldwide) and how large a presence the organization has in the commonwealth.

As CEO, Jason is responsible for executing and promoting the overall strategic plan, growth, and direction for the Firm, as well as overseeing the day-to-day administration and financial management.
Jason joined Brown Edwards in 1986 and, prior to becoming Brown Edwards’ CEO, served as a partner in the assurance services practice of the Firm and as a member of its peer review services team, providing peer reviews to large regional firms around the country.
He is a magna cum laude graduate from Glenville State College with a B.A. in Accounting and Finance and received an MS in Accounting from James Madison University. Virginia Business Magazine has also named Jason as a Super CPA in the government and not-for-profit areas of practice.
Jason currently serves as a board member and audit committee chair of Feeding Southwest Virginia, and is a past board member and treasurer of the Civitan Club of Roanoke.
