BC Special Collections is exhibiting “Getting the Band Back Together: A Celebration of Marching Bands at Bridgewater College,” a showcase of the historic BC marching band from 1950 to 1971 and the Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band which debuted this year. The exhibition was curated by Special Collections Librarian Stephanie S. Gardner and intern Meghann L. Burgess ’23.

Nov. 8 – Dec. 10         Art Exhibition – “American Glitch: Neo Regionalism” by Alan Skees
Beverly Perdue Art Gallery, John Kenny Forrer Learning Commons
Alan Skees road trips through the United States creating surreal digital                  landscapes of a society entrenched in a “nostalgia or future” argument with         itself. Armed with cell phones, GPS and hacked apps, he scans the land and finds            everywhere the fingerprints of humanity: technology, corporations,                   industrialization and sprawling urbanization—and he embraces it.
Opening Reception: Monday, Nov. 8, 5-7 p.m.
Artist’s Talk: 5:30 p.m.
 
Nov. 10                       Endowed Lecture: Tales from the Field with Jeff Corwin
Cole Hall, 7:30 p.m.
Jeff Corwin is an Emmy-winning TV host, conservationist and wildlife biologist who shares his passion for environmental conservation in a talk that inspires audiences to become more aware of the threats to wildlife and the environment. This will be a traditional lecture format in Cole Hall.
