“An Eagle’s View” – Judith Ely, a Bridgewater College alumna, will present acrylic paintings that are abstracted landscapes on canvas or board.

Artist’s Talk: 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, KCC, lower level
Homecoming Reception: 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, KCC, lower level

Oct. 1                          Film Screening – Lawless:
                                    7:30 p.m., Cole Hall, Bridgewater College
Film: Lawless, the 2012 film based on Matt Bondurant’s bestseller, The Wettest County in the World, will be screened. Bondurant will present an endowed lecture at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

Oct. 2                          Endowed Lecture – Matt Bondurant:
                                    7:30 p.m., Carter Center for Worship and Music, Bridgewater College
Speaker: Matt Bondurant, the author of three novels, including The Wettest County in the World, selected as a New York Times Editors’ Choice and one of the San Francisco Chronicle’s 50 Best Books of the Year. Lawless, the 2012 movie based on this bestseller, will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Cole Hall.

Oct. 16                        Convocation – Dan Veach:
6:30 p.m., Spoerlein Lecture Hall, (Room 100), McKinney Center for Science and Mathematics, Bridgewater College
Speaker: Dan Veach is the founder and editor of the Atlanta Review and author of Elephant Water, the winner of the 2013 Georgia Author of the Year Award for poetry. He will read from his most recent poetry collection, Lunchboxes.

Oct. 17                        Endowed Lecture – Monica Lewinsky:
7:30 p.m., Nininger Hall, Bridgewater College (doors open at 6 p.m.)
Speaker: Monica Lewinsky is a social activist in the battle against online harassment, advocating for a safer social media environment.

Oct. 19                        Homecoming Concert:
7:30 p.m., Carter Center for Worship and Music, Bridgewater College
Performing: The Bridgewater College choirs, Jazz Ensemble and an alumni jazz band will present a concert.
